Privacy policy

We built Vibeways to collect as little about you as possible.

What stays on your phone

The app keeps a few things in your browser's storage so it remembers you between visits: the town you picked, places you saved, performers you follow, vibe taps, and similar settings. This information stays on your device. We can't see it. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for Vibeways or removing the app from your home screen.

Your location

Vibeways may ask to use your location so it can show the town nearest to you and how far places are. It's up to you; the app works without it. When you allow it, your location is used inside the app on your phone. We don't send it to our servers or keep it. You can turn location access off in your phone's settings at any time.

Anonymous usage counts

We may count page views and taps (for example, "someone tapped Directions for a restaurant") so we can see what's useful and tell businesses roughly how many people we send them. We use a privacy-friendly counting service (GoatCounter) that doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other websites, and doesn't tell us who you are. Like any website, the counting service and our web host receive basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type when you visit.

Information from Google

Photos, opening hours, ratings and some place details come live from Google Maps Platform. When a listing loads, your browser requests that information from Google, and Google receives the technical information that comes with any web request. Google's use of it is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

When you contact us

If you email us, report a problem with a listing, claim a page, ask us to come to your town, or fill in a form on our site, we receive what you send, such as your name, email address, phone number and message. We use it only to answer you, verify a claim, fix the listing, or plan new towns. We may use AI tools (such as Claude, by Anthropic) to help sort, draft and answer messages; they process your message only to help us reply. We keep it as long as we need it for that, and we'll delete it if you ask. Forms on our website are processed by our web host, Netlify.

Business and performer pages

Listings for restaurants, bars, venues and events are built from public information: the business's own website and social pages, public event calendars, and Google. Performer pages are created automatically when a band, comedian or host appears in a venue's public schedule. If you're the owner or the performer, you can claim the page to update it, or ask us to correct or remove it.

Links to other sites

Vibeways links to restaurant websites, maps, reservation and ticket sites, social media and music services. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and what happens there is up to them.

Children

Vibeways is meant for adults and families looking for places to go. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Your choices and California rights

You can use Vibeways without giving us any personal information. If you've contacted us, you can ask what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@vibeways.app. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and not to be treated differently for using those rights. We don't sell or share personal information, so there's nothing to opt out of.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, which is one reason we keep so little.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also note it in the app.

Terms of use

By using Vibeways, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What Vibeways is

Vibeways is a free guide to local restaurants, bars, live music, happy hours, events and things to do. We gather information from public sources, from the businesses themselves, and from Google. Vibeways doesn't sell tickets, take reservations, or run the places listed.

2. Check before you go

Hours, happy hours, prices, menus, events and line-ups change, sometimes without notice. We work to keep listings current, but we can't guarantee that everything is accurate, complete or up to date. Please confirm important details with the business before you go. If something's wrong, tap "Report a problem" on the listing or email us.

3. Alcohol and age

Many listings are bars, breweries, wineries and venues with age limits. You're responsible for following the law and each venue's rules. Please drink responsibly and never drink and drive.

4. Using the app

You may use Vibeways for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't:

• copy, scrape or download listings or data in bulk, or use them to build another product;
• try to break, overload or get around the security of the app or website;
• pretend to be a business or performer you don't represent, or send us false information;
• use Vibeways for anything unlawful.

5. Claimed pages and things you send us

When you claim a page or send us photos, specials, event details or other material, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it's accurate. You give Foresighted LLC permission to show, edit, resize and promote that material in Vibeways and its marketing. We may verify claims, and we may edit or remove anything that's inaccurate, inappropriate or not ours to publish.

6. Sponsored content

Some placements, such as Local Picks and ads, are paid for by businesses or performers and are labeled. A sponsored placement isn't a recommendation or endorsement by Vibeways.

7. Google Maps content

Vibeways uses Google Maps Platform. By using the app, you also agree to the Google Maps / Google Earth Additional Terms of Service, and Google's handling of information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. Photos and details from Google belong to Google and the people who posted them.

8. Our content

The Vibeways name, logo, design and our own write-ups belong to Foresighted LLC. Business names, logos and photos belong to their owners. If you own something shown in Vibeways and want it changed or removed, email us and we'll take care of it promptly.

9. Other sites and the places themselves

Links to other websites are for your convenience; we're not responsible for their content or services. Your visit, purchase, booking or ticket is between you and the business or ticket seller.

10. No warranties

Vibeways is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't promise that the app will always be available or error-free.

11. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Foresighted LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for anything that happens at a place or event you find through Vibeways. Because the app is free, our total liability for any claim related to Vibeways is limited to $100.

12. Changes and ending

We may update these terms, change or discontinue features, or stop offering Vibeways. If we change these terms, we'll post the new version here with a new date. Using the app after that means you accept the update.

13. California law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Los Angeles County, California, unless the law where you live says otherwise.
